Product Benefits
The premise of this research was based purely on the PowerBarrow
(motorized wheelbarrow). Both the PowerBarrow and the PowerTrakker
product lines create simple but revolutionary patented improvements
on the three wheel design, either stand alone or motorized, to create
immediate benefits over the standard, one-wheeled manual equipment.
This includes:
- substantially reduced back and hip injuries
- substantially reduced body fatigue and joint pain
- inviting use of and creating new markets for women, the non-frail
elderly, and do-it-yourselfers where physical strength is no longer
a barrier for use
- the capability to balance loads requiring no special equipment
manipulation
- easy maneuverability over uneven, muddy or steep terrain
- easy maneuverability in tight spaces or hard to reach places
- greater proven user efficiency and substantial increase in productivity
- substantial savings in time and expense from injury-induced
absenteeism
End Users
As such, products in both lines can be used by and should be targeted
to the following audiences:
- Agricultural workers, particularly for carrying and transporting
- Auto body shops and wrecking yards
- Commercial construction workers in all fields
- Contractors: general building, engineering, concrete, landscaping,
plumbing, electrical, roofing and siding, demolition, painting,
etc.
- Courier companies such as Federal Express and UPS
- Do-it-yourself builders, household workers, and gardeners
- Equipment rental suppliers (American Rental Association)
- Feed, plant nurseries and garden shops
- Food and beverage catering companies
- Groundskeepers
- Labor unions (potentially able to influence contractors to adopt
this equipment)
- Military services: Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard,
National Guard
- Oil rig workers
- Produce and grocery workers (for stocking and warehousing),
hardware stores, retail stores, etc.
- Ranchers
- Red Cross: national, state / provincial, and local (for hauling
debris and extracting bodies)
- Search and rescue departments
- State and provincial highway construction and maintenance authorities
- State and provincial parks and recreation authorities
- Transportation and moving companies
- US Forest Service
- Utility companies: gas, electric, water, sewage, etc.
- Warehouse workers: food stores (as noted above), appliance manufacturers
and huge retail outlets who manipulate heavy boxes and equipment
of all sizes, manufacturers of all kinds that similarly move around
heavy equipment or inventory, etc.
All of PTU's products are durable, easy to operate, safe, efficient,
enjoyable to work with. The PowerBarrow can carry 600 and 700 pounds
depending on the model, operator and the incline. PowerBarrow and
PowerTrakker products both do not rely on users' strength and agility
as conventional products do.
Insurance companies have indicated that they would endorse and
encourage the use of these products once actual manufacturing and
distribution is in place. By reducing rates for subscribers who
use PTU's motorized technology, insurance companies see the additional
added-value of these products in saving millions, potentially billions
of dollars relating to medical injuries and disabilities, temporary
or permanent, over the long term. As insurance rates are cut, overall
costs to contractors and builders should reduce.
Insurance company endorsements can only be obtained when the PowerBarrow
is commercially available.
